Advanced Medicine for Remote Foreign Travel feedback from Ken Barker, Dec '07 course delegate

An absolutely superb course. No soft starts in the morning and no drifting off early in the afternoons.

No business is going to post negative feedback on its website and it's easy to sift through evaluation forms looking for a glowing punch line. WMT is pleased when satisfied students take the time to write to us in detail with their feedback. KEN BARKER, who recently attended the Advanced Medicine course, had this to say about his WMT experience:

Please thank Jon and his team for an absolutely superb course.  Perhaps the most useful and relevant I have ever attended.

The course is very comprehensive covering almost any incident that one might expect to encounter on any type of expedition, mostly importantly for me I now have a much better idea of my limitations.  This is helpful at the when briefing fellow travellers on what cannot be fixed when professional help might be a week or more away.

The practical aspects are immensely important.

Instructors  - absolutely first class.  All were knowledgeable, good communicators, responsive and encouraged the inquisitive.

Course Manual - superb.  It will go wherever I go.

Programme/content - exhaustive programme, absolutely the correct level.

Other Comments

I very much appreciated the momentum of the course, no soft starts in the morning and no drifting off early in the afternoon.

Jon (Dr Jon Dallimore WMT’s Medical Director) and the other health care professionals should be given great credit for being prepared to provide advanced instruction to lay people.  This initiative has undoubtedly improved the outlook for many expedition casualties and probably saved lives and it will continue to do so.

I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this course to any serious travellers.
